What is Grainbin?
An iPhone app for grain farms running John Deere equipment. It reads your Operations Center data and keeps every field, pass and harvest on your phone, in bushels and acres, with an advisor that answers questions from your own numbers.
Where does the data come from?
John Deere Operations Center, over the official read-only connection. Grainbin never writes to your account and never changes anything there. What your machines record is what Grainbin knows.
What if my Operations Center data is a mess?
It usually is: fields named twice, seasons split, passes missing. The app does what it can with what is there. If you want it done properly, the data service cleans up the history and keeps it tidy through the year.
Do I need to type anything in?
No. Connect once and the farms, fields and passes come across on their own. The one thing your machines cannot know is where the grain went, so bins are the only part you record yourself.
Is it free?
Using the app with your own farm is free. The data service is priced by acres. Placeholder pricing until we've settled it.
Which crops does it handle?
Wheat first, and everything else John Deere records: canola, durum, peas, lentils, barley. If it was seeded and harvested through a Deere display, it shows up.
What does the advisor actually know?
Your fields, seasons, passes, yields and bins, exactly as they appear in the app, and nothing else. It does not browse the internet or guess. If the answer is not in your data it says so.
Is my farm's data shared with anyone?
No. It is yours, stored for your account alone, and never used to train anything. You can disconnect John Deere at any time and take it with you.
When can I get it?
We're onboarding a small group of wheat farms first, in the order people signed up. Leave your details and we'll tell you when it's your turn.
